Rebalance

Are you an experienced engineer, particularly in grid connection?

Perhaps you’re in a good role now but feel you have more to give? You want to be a bit more creative and bring your ideas to the table?

That change would typically come from a corporate environment to more of a start-up atmosphere. But a start-up is not always for everyone. How about having that dynamic and fast-paced environment with an already established player in the renewables development space? Best of both worlds you might say…

Headquartered in London, this company (a developer transitioning to IPP) have developed a pipeline in excess of 12GW across Europe and the Americas in solar and storage technologies. Germany is a key market with a fast-growing team (based in Hamburg and currently 10 people, but looking to double) and a crucial need for someone to lead and grow the technical, particularly grid connection, department.

Key tasks:

  • Identification and analysis of grid connection points for large solar and battery projects within Germany;
  • Analysis of free grid capacities in coordination with the high voltage grid operators;
  • Coordination and representation of interests with the high voltage grid operators with regards to expansion and renewal needs, but also project implementation times, project risks and costs;
  • Network expansion and renewal concepts for the integration of the projects;
  • Review of the projects with regard to grid integration and stability as well as further project dependencies, implementation durations and implementation risks;
  • Optimization of the entire project portfolio in terms of technical effectiveness

Furthermore, this company are looking to build out their in-house capabilities, so you’ll be tasked with building up the team to cover design, construction and O&M both in Germany and overseas. So, you can see there is a huge potential with this role…

This is a senior and strategic role so it’s essential you are bringing significant relevant experience in the grid connection of renewable energy projects. Having some exposure to both the side of the TSO as well as developer would be highly desirable. Leadership experience is mandatory but that could be team lead level, looking to make a step-up.

Presence in Hamburg is preferred but not essential, so you could work remotely anywhere in Germany. Package will be negotiated case-by-case but expect to see a fixed element of €100k-€140k plus annual bonus and a very attractive LTIP (typically 3-5x your base).

If we have a fit, then please apply now. If perhaps you don’t have an up-to-date CV right now and would prefer a confidential chat to begin with, you can email me directly at richard@rebalance.eu.

Upload your CV/resume or any other relevant file. Max. file size: 39 MB.
