T&D Sales Manager – Germany (x2 roles)

Our client is one of the world’s largest energy technology businesses — operating across more than 140 countries with revenues exceeding $25 billion — and they are building their German T&D business from scratch. Two hires. A blank sheet. Real ownership of a real market.
If you’ve spent your career inside the high voltage world — transformers, substations, 110kV and above — and you know the German market, the EPCs, the developers, the utilities — this is the kind of role that doesn’t come around often.
The opportunity
Our client’s European business is genuinely European. More than 500 people, five locations across the continent, and Germany is the priority market right now. The people leading this country’s T&D business will have the backing of a global giant and the freedom of a startup. It’s a rare combination.
We’re recruiting two people for this team: one more senior, one a level below. Both need to be technically credible in the HV space and commercially driven. Both will be building pipelines, winning projects, and shaping what this business becomes in Germany.
What the roles involve
- Identifying and winning renewable energy, BESS, and grid infrastructure projects across Germany and Europe
- Building relationships with EPC contractors, developers, utilities, grid operators, and investors
- Influencing technical specifications early in the project cycle
- Leading commercial negotiations through to close
- Working remotely with frequent travel across Germany and Europe
What we’re looking for
For the senior role: a proven track record in HV sales — substations, power transformers, 110kV and above — with an established network and the credibility to open doors at the highest level.
For the junior role: solid technical grounding in the HV world, hunger to prove yourself, and the drive to build something from the ground up.
Both roles require fluent German, confident English, and the ability to work independently in a home-based role.
Package
€75,000–€100,000 base salary depending on experience. Choice of bonus structure: either a fixed bonus (20–30%) or a tiered sales commission with significant upside — one comparable hire in another European market doubled their base salary through commission alone.
Initial employment will be through an EOR arrangement, with a view to a permanent structure as the German business grows.
